Post World War II Life Experience:

Following the conclusion of the war it was on to college on the GI Bill. Attending Hobart College in upstate New York, Bill (Gus, Willie) studied liberal arts and education. Upon graduation from Hobart, Bill spent a short period of time teaching High School history at Horseheads High School. He then returned to study at the University of Pennsylvania - Wharton School of Finance (the Masters Committee is still awaiting delivery of his final thesis).

Bill then began a career in insurance sales working for the Travelers Insurance company in Rochester, New York and residing in Canandaigua, New York. He later joined a colleague in a small insurance practice in Canandaigua known as the Sackett Agency.

Recreationally, with the birth of three childern Bill became active in Boy Scouting leadership, both on a local and national level for Leadership training, and was awarded the prestigous Silver Beaver Award.

Professionally, in the mid 1960's Bill set out on his own in the insurance business from the home he bought on the same day he left his old partnership at the Sackett Agency.

After many years in insurance sales, the Gustin Agency was sold, and Bill became a fund raiser serving for many years as the Executive Director of the Ontario and Wayne County United Way. Later, Bill accepted his final professional position as the Executive Director of the Schenectady County United Way in the Albany New York region.

Bill retired to Penn Yan New York on the peaceful shores of Keuka Lake where he and his wife Beverly still reside.
